Dear Future Husband,
Hey sugarplum, how are you? I trust you are well and in high spirits. I am convinced that you are flourishing in all spheres of life. Me?! I am doing alright! You know this Nigeria is quite tough now and choosing to be an entrepreneur is like voluntarily seeking capital punishment, yet, I’ll live! (See what I did there?!)
I know you know I am an independent-minded goal-getter of a gal but dude, I must ask, what the “funkcicles” is holding you up? I’m not even going to pretend and say I’m impatient only because I can’t wait to meet you and spend the rest of our lives together; baby, i gat needs. Turn up!
Seriously though, I decided to write you this letter so I can share my dreams regarding our lives together. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of our correspondence cos when you get here, we are matching off to the courts immediately, so we can get down to having some legitimate “seckcicles” immediately. Yeah, no time baby! Okay, I know I said ‘seriously’…
Darling, we are not merely educated, we are enlightened people with a vision to build empires. I am so thrilled that you are an intelligent and open-minded man. You value the beauty of my mind and brains more than my cooking and cleaning skills.
There are a variety of equipment that we can buy to make life easier. Needless to say, as we get busier with raising our children and building empires, we will employ non-resident staff. I know this isn’t a big deal because we are like-minded; don’t be annoyed that I felt a need to spell it out. Moving on…
They say behind every successful man is a woman. Well, honey, I don’t want to be behind you, I want to walk beside you. What I want more than anything in the world is to be your partner. I have always been convinced I am meant to build empires with you. I want to stay up at night with you testing out ideas, doing market researches, planning businesses, brainstorming for strategies and tactics, solving problems, developing presentation and other related stories.
Not only do I want us to build businesses together, I want to help you run your businesses too and I also want you to help me run mine. I want us to be so vested in each other that you can wake up and go have some “me” time in Barbados without worrying about your board meetings or pending contract deals. After all, your Luscious Luminous got you covered, yeah? Yeah! It is because of this future I am grateful for the lessons I am learning now; they are equipping me for the journey ahead of us.
Just the other day, a friend of mine said I am a pearl in an oyster and that it was a shame all the guys around don’t see me. I didn’t reply him but it occurred to me that these guys don’t need to appreciate me because it takes a man with taste and class to recognise and value a pearl to begin with. Sugarplum, I will wait for you because I know that with you, I will find completeness that most of these guys can’t give.
Hey, don’t say because I said I will wait, you will take your time oh! I am shamelessly waiting for the good times we will spend together.
Alright love, you are in my prayers. Be good!
Your Luscious Luminous.
